[RL with Kratos: Visiting]
Jacky was in a better mood today than she had been yesterday. She was still upset that the other girls from her school were still on the slaver ship while she was comfortable in another world, but she had been forced to leave, really. Between Yuan, Clarissa, Kratos, Yuki, and Tieria she didn't have much of a choice. Plus, the fact that she couldn't move didn't make things easier on her end. She had ended up letting Yuan bring her back to his world, though, for medical care. She planned to return to the Bloodhound tomorrow, though.

Today, Jacky was sitting around at the Base waiting for Kratos. She would have gone back to the Bloodhound immediately after being healed to help with the girls some more, but it was too late to go back now. She would have to wait another day, to a point that her wounds would be healed so as to make the timeline fit right. Plus, she just really wanted to see Kratos before she went back. She missed him so much already. She wasn't sure how she was going to make it through the rest of this month.

Jacky paced the hallways of the base patiently. She nodded and smiled at a few of the men she recognized from the last time she had been here. She couldn't be expected not to socialize with some of them.

After leaving Meltokio behind, Kratos had made haste to the Base as quickly as possible. He hadn't expected Yuan to allow him to visit Jacky... He had resigned himself to speaking with her over the computer for now, until she was well enough to move. And when that time came, Kratos knew that she would want to go back to her world as soon as possible. Really, he hadn't expected to see her at all.

He hesitated once he reached the entrance, just in case Yuan was waiting for him there, but there was no sign of him. So wanting to waste no more time, Kratos entered the Base without a second thought. He wasn't entirely sure where Yuan was keeping Jacky, but he knew that in her condition he would want her to be as comfortable as possible. He asked one of the men working there to confirm what he was thinking. Jacky was in Yuan's room and so it was here that Kratos headed for next.

As he reached the room, Kratos hesitated again. He wanted to see Jacky more than anything right now and to know that she was safe and well, but he was also afraid... He felt guilty for not acting during her capture and for blindly following her requests; requests that he knew might have ended in her death. He hated feeling so useless and knew that he should have done something about it no matter how much Jacky protested.

Bracing himself for what was to come, he tried to push those thoughts to the back of his mind and entered the room...

Jacky stopped her pacing when she heard someone enter the room. She was hoping it would be Kratos, but it could have been Yuan as well. She turned around and couldn't resist the grin that formed when she saw Kratos standing in her room. Most times, Jacky was able to at least try to contain her emotions. But seeing Kratos after expecting to die time and time again made her lose control of herself, not to mention this was the first time they had seen each other since he had told her he loved her.

Jacky ran over to Kratos and without a second's hesitation she threw her arms around his neck and held onto him tightly, almost as though she were afraid to let go of him again. As she held him for what was the first time since she had been captured, Jacky couldn't resist the tears that formed in her eyes. God she had missed Kratos more than she had thought.

He knew she would be well again after receiving help from the healers here, but Kratos hadn't expected her to be so lively and he couldn't help but feel a little taken aback by her reaction to him being there. He soon came to his senses however and wrapped his own arms around her, holding her close to him. At that moment he really didn't want to let go...

Kratos was eternally grateful to Yuan for so many things and now he had one more thing to be thankful for. Still, he couldn't help but think that he should have been the one to go there, instead of waiting for someone else to take action. He wasn't sure if he could bear to let Jacky go again without him. He wanted to protect her and to have an active role in what she was doing, dangerous or not. And he would help her friends if only she would let him. The girls had already been exposed to a being from another world, would it really hurt that much if he went back there to help them alongside Jacky? Kratos really wanted to make an effort with her, and right now he felt like he was doing nothing... or at least doing nothing but worrying her, which would help neither of them in the end.

Jacky held onto Kratos for a couple minutes before she took a few deep breaths to stop herself from outright crying and pulled back. She wiped away the few stray tears in her eyes and smiled at him. "I've missed you so much if you couldn't tell," She informed him.

She was a little concerned about how Kratos was doing at the moment. He had seemed a little distant ever since Yuan had left to come get her last night. She was afraid he might be mad at himself. She really didn't want him to be. She had been the one to ask him not to come, begged him and everyone else not to come. And she knew he would have if he had transportation.

"I have missed you too..." he replied, keeping his eyes on her. He knew that she could tell something was wrong, but he also knew what she would say if he told her how he was feeling. So instead he would try his best not to show it and be strong for her.

Kratos needed to try to persuade Jacky to let him stay with her. He was sure she wouldn't want to think about going back right now, now that they had some time alone together, but it was something he needed to do all the same. And he was equally sure that she would have none if it, but at least he could say he had tried... Not that it would make him feel any better.

"Jacky..." he began, "I know you didn't want anyone to come for you but things have changed now. Please, let me go back with you and help you."

Jacky bit her lip when Kratos asked this of her. She pulled away from him and then turned her back to him. She was weak-willed, and she knew this. She needed to tell Kratos no, but deep down she really wanted him to be with her. She realized just how hard it was to not be with him and she didn't want to go back to that. But it was too late for him to join the girls on the Bloodhound.

"Kratos, I'm sorry, but I can't do that," She told him softly. She wished he hadn't asked her. She was fighting so hard not to tell him yes.

Kratos had expected just such a response, but he wasn't willing to give up, not this time. He had already made far too many mistakes in his lifetime and he had lost so much because of it. There were few things in this world that kept him here, and right now Jacky was one of them. He wasn't willing to let her go so easily, no matter how many promises she made to him to come home safely.

He moved so she was facing him again, trying to show how serious he was about this. Besides he didn't like to talk to her with her back turned. He wanted to see her face. "The girls have already seen Yuan... I don't care if they have to see me for what I am. And I can't just let you go, and wait for you here, especially after what happened to you..."

Jacky looked down at the floor and crossed her arms over her chest. She was surprised she had any lip left to bit on, but she still was, trying to keep herself from making a bad decision. She didn't think Kratos should go. Not just because of the girls but she was afraid how he might react to some situations she would need to get into in order to survive.

She shook her vehemently as Kratos tried to ask her again. She was trying to keep herself from saying yes for the most part. "Kratos... you can't... Please stop asking," She asked him softly.

"No, I won't," answered Kratos bluntly. "I want to do whatever I can to prevent you from getting hurt in the future. It's not fair for me to just stay here and watch from a distance while you are constantly in danger..."

He moved closer to her then and placed a hand on her arm, trying to get her to relax or at least to look at him again. He could tell that she was uncomfortable with him constantly asking, and he had expected her to be, but although he meant no harm he was going to keep pressing the question no matter how long it took for her to agree.

His heart was quickly beginning to win over his head.

God, he wasn't playing fair. Jacky should have pulled back when he placed his hand on her arm, but she had missed him too much. She didn't want to be apart from him, not again. This was already a hard enough choice, and the longer he kept talking the harder it became to keep telling him no. Still, she didn't look up at him, just focused on a spot on the floor.

"I will not put you in this sort of situation, Kratos! I will be fine," She told him. She wished she could make him believe those words so that he would stop pressing the matter. She promised she would be fine, and she would be.

"You weren't fine the last time I spoke to you. You can't promise me that..." he said, sighing. He knew that she was trying to reassure him but the truth was that neither of them knew what might happen in the future. Kratos had faith in Jacky's ability to survive, she had already come this far, but what if one day she needed his help and he wasn't there to give it to her?

"Jacky, look at me," he said sternly, noticing that she was still staring at the floor. He needed her full attention.

Reluctantly, hesitantly, Jacky raised her head to look at Kratos. She didn't want to, though. Looking directly at him made it so much harder for her to tell him know. Not when she could see what she going to be missing. And she knew she'd miss him too much. It had been less than a week and she was already in pain from how badly she wanted to see him.

"I am promising you, I will come back and I will be fine," She told him again. She felt like she was repeating herself really. Honestly, she only had a few excuses as to why he couldn't come, and the reasons to allow him to come were piling against her.

It was obvious Jacky didn't want to do as he said, but he was glad that she did all the same. He could see the hurt in her eyes and knew that deep down she really didn't want him to have to stay here. She didn't want them to be seperated again and neither did Kratos. He just wished that she would give in, and give them what they both wanted. He would give her one last chance...

"If that really is what you want... then there is something I must do before you leave. I might not get another chance..." Kratos told her quietly. In the event that she did leave alone and didn't come back, at least he would know that he had taken the chance to show that he really did love her.

Not waiting for her to respond or giving her a chance to protest, Kratos took her in his arms and kissed her.

Jacky could practically see her will shatter in front of her the second Kratos' lips touched hers. At first, she was hesitant. She didn't want to kiss him, she was afraid that if she did she couldn't refuse him anymore. And she was right. She felt her heartbeat quicken in reaction to his kiss, and all rationality disappeared in that single second. She wrapped her arms around him and held him close, giving in to the kiss.

Somewhere in the back of Jacky's mind, she realized that she hadn't kissed Kratos since Valentine's day, and that kiss hadn't counted. Then, Kratos had been affected by a virus. Now, though, she knew it was really him, and that made this moment all the better. God she loved him.

Finally, remembering that air was a necessary part of living, Jacky pulled away taking deep breaths. "Fine... you can come," She told him softly. Who was she kidding? She hadn't the strength to tell him no anymore.

"Thank you..." said Kratos, a little surprised at himself that he had been so forward about it, now that it was over. Although he couldn't doubt that he had loved every moment of the kiss, he could do nothing to stop the pangs of guilt he still felt after every intimate moment with Jacky. It wasn't just Anna he felt guilty about but he felt guilty for Jacky having to live with her memory hovering over the pair of them all the time. He said nothing about it though... he hoped that with time the negative feelings would subside and he would be able to move on without fear of what he was doing. And lately he had felt more inclined to give into his feelings for Jacky. He found it harder not to give in when Jacky put herself in such dangerous situations; the thought of her death plagued his mind constantly when she was away from him...

Knowing he would be able to keep an eye on Jacky now made him feel a lot better. And... he hoped that Yuan would feel better knowing that someone was there to take care of her if the situation took a turn for the worse. At least if Kratos returned with Jacky, Yuan would be able to get on with whatever he was doing before her ordeal without having to worry so much about her. That's what he hoped anyway... Kratos figured that Yuan didn't trust him at the moment, but perhaps he would trust him with Jacky at least.

"I will do whatever I can to help you and the girls. I won't let anything happen to any of you. And I will be careful myself," he told her, in an attempt to reassure her that she had made the right decision.

Jacky wrapped her arms around Kratos' stomach and pressed her cheek against his check in an attempt to reassure herself as well. She was going to worry now. With Kratos on the Bloodhound she would be more self-aware and she would constantly fear what would happen if he were discovered. She didn't care about herself, just him. She was willing to go through anything for the girls and for him, but it was another thing if he was there. She'd work it out she was sure.

"I trust you, Kratos," She said softly. She still wasn't okay with this idea, though. "I know everything will be all right." She hoped they would be at least. She would still worry, and she would always have fears, she shuddered remembering her dream last night, but she thought having Kratos there might make it all the easier to get through.

It was good to hear those words from someone, especially Jacky. Trust wasn't something that he acquired very easily and for good reason. And after everything that had happened in the past he would do everything he could to maintain that trust and prove that he wasn't as bad as he first seemed. And Kratos knew that he was the one that needed to believe that most of all.

Kratos closed his eyes then, holding onto Jacky as she held onto him, and relaxed in her company. "Good... And if I have to expose what I am to do this, so be it. Now that the girls know of other worlds and beings with wings, they might as well know about me as well. If we were to have any kind of future together, as you believe we can, then they were always bound to find out sooner or later..."

Yes, he didn't make a habit of showing his wings or using magic around those who weren't used to it, but after the incident with Randall he wasn't sure if he could keep everything a secret forever. Especially if he needed to protect Jacky, and the only way he could was to reveal what he was.

Jacky nodded her head against Kratos' chest. She knew that he was right. She hated when he was rational and right when she could barely figure things out herself sometimes but he made sense. She didn't believe it was possible for people in her world not to find out about Kratos, not if she chose to live her life with him. She realized suddenly that the second the Doctor landed in her world all that time ago was the second her world was changed from this encounter.

"I'll make sure the girls understand," Jacky told him. "But you're right... besides, I trust them with this. Thank you so much, Kratos. For putting yourself in this position," She added. She knew he didn't like when she thanked him, but sometimes it felt necessary to do so.

"It's all right. I am just glad you finally gave in," Kratos replied with a slight smile. Somehow they always ended up trying to persuade each other to make a decision and it always ended up going nowhere. They were both too stubborn for their own good really.

Kratos pulled away from Jacky then, though he really could have stayed there forever. "Anyway, you should get some rest... I want you at full strength if you intend to go back to that place again," he told her.

Jacky flashed Kratos a grin. She was feeling better now. The idea of having Kratos with her when she originally thought they wouldn't see each other again for the rest of the month. She would have to remember in the future to be more careful around Kratos. She couldn't have him breaking her will every time they reached a stalemate.

"But I'm supposed to play the part of the still tortured little girl when we return. Two days doesn't make for a happy Jacky after being whipped," She told him, still smiling. "Rest can wait until later. Besides, you are getting rules when we return to the Bloodhoung."

"Hmm, then I suggest you tell me now so I am prepared," said Kratos, suspiciously.

Whatever rules Jacky was intended to create for him he knew that it was likely he wouldn't agree with at least one of them. Better that he could discuss things with her beforehand than to find out at a moment's notice and hesitate at a critical moment. Of course, there was no guarantee she would give in to his wishes again, but at least it was worth a try.

Jacky shrugged her shoulders and waved a dismissive hand. "Obvious things, no interfering, no magic, that sort of thing. I'll have a better list for you tomorrow," She told him. The rules were mostly to keep him from trying to interfere too much. Just because Jacky finally agreed to let him come, didn't mean she was going to let him get away with much.

"Don't worry. They won't be anything too bad," She assured him, though she was probably lying to herself at this moment.

"In other words they will be, and you don't want me to start protesting about them," said Kratos, with a frown. "But fair enough..." he added.

He knew that Jacky would do her best to restrict what he was and wasn't allowed to do while they were there. He understood not to interfere in her plans unless he really had to, and of course he would try to avoid using magic as well... but he hoped she wouldn't restrict him too much. He wasn't sure what would be worse - being away from her and unable to do anything or being right beside her and being unable to do anything. Still, he thought, at least he would be there to take action if he really needed to, whether it contradicted with any of her rules or not.

Jacky took his hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "It'll all work out. Besides, I'll probably be likely to be safer with you there anyways. Less chance of you needing to try to save me," She assured him.

Jacky knew that having Kratos with her would most likely limit what she did. She'd be self-conscious and afraid of worrying him. She would be safer with him there watching than not at all at least. He probably wouldn't need to stop anything, anyways. She had no intentions of getting killed.
